Adam Z bio 2010
It’s been quite an odyssey for Adam Z and Crafty Records throughout the years. It all started in 2000 with the release of Adam’s first album (and Crafty Records’ 3rd), In Due Time. Due to promotional miscues and the dissolution of Adam’s live band, the album really never got off the ground.
Although the solo career didn’t take off right away, Adam hit the studio for sessions with Crafty Records artists Stick Martin and Brook Pridemore on their records of the mid 2000’s. He also had a four-year stint as the bassist for the Scranton, PA based “power soul” band Alien Red.
After the disbanding of Alien Red in 2008, Adam picked up the guitar again, and found that he had a lot left in the tank in the realm of songwriting. He took a raw batch of songs down to Stick Martin’s home studio in April 2009, and the two of them recorded Adam’s latest effort, Déjà vu in Slow Motion. Unlike his previous release, Déjà vu is a much more cohesive record, leaning heavily in classic country with a modern twist.
Now based in Philadelphia, Adam Z and the Contra Band (or whatever they’re called that night) consist of:
Adam Z- vocals, guitar
Brian Schuman- bass
Pack Sampson- violin, vocals
Justin Deutsch- guitar
Scott Schuman- drums
Annie Myers- vocals
