Guitar Bomb A man finds a suitcase in the street and decides to take a peak
inside. Decisions like this can have dire consequences. What might a
man find in an abandoned suitcase on the street? He could find money
or he could find body parts. Inside, however, he finds what seems to
be a machine. Wires of various colors are tangled and connected to
lights which apparently indicate one thing or another. There are also
knobs which can be twisted and switches that can be flicked. In the
middle of this highly complicated contraption is a button, and beneath
it the man reads the word, "Danger!" There really is only one thing to
do with this machine in a suitcase, the man figures. So he brings it
home and plugs the machine into the wall behind the refrigerator. Then
he finds his guitar and plugs it into the machine inside of the
suitcase. He pushes the button that reads, "Danger!" and plays a
chord............ BOOM! The guitar bomb explodes.
The man buys a gritty acoustic then spay paints gunshot wounds on it.
Then he gets drunk and reads a few Charles Bukowski stories while
listening to The Stooges. By the end of the night he's written a few
cranky blues tunes and plugs his acoustic into the bomb and pretends
to sing like Tom Waites.
(Guitar Bomb has toured the US several times the past few years as a
solo artist as well as with his band The Don't Stop)
